Leaving tomorrow

Well, tomorrow I leave for Cornell. It's a ~7 hour drive. I'm terrified. Not of the drive, but of being that far from home and being in an all-new, very challenging academic environment. This will also be my first time living outside of NH for an extended amount of time.

But I'm excited, too -- change is good, as is challenging yourself.

So, my next post will be from Ithaca, NY. I'll let y'all know how the trip goes and the moving-in process goes. Hopefully it will be a happy post, not a stressed-out one :)

Another phase of my life done...

Yesterday was the last day of my internship... it was actually sad to see it end. I had a great experience working at Verizon. For my last day, I had to give a presentation about what I did, what I learned, etc. More people came than I expected, and I was very happy with my presentation. It was a good note for me to leave on, I think.

I found my internship surprisingly challenging, but in a good way. It was fun learning about an industry I had no knowledge of, and developing an application which will actually be in real use after I leave.

But now, it's even closer to me leaving for Ithaca. THAT scares me. More and more each day. But, I think once I'm out there and classes start, I will get used to it. Going to Cornell is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I'm lucky to have -- I want to get the most of it.

So, the rest of my summer (the week and a half left) will be spent:

1) Shopping
2) Packing
3) Playing Doom 3
4) Sleeping
5) Seeing friends

So there you go :)
